Firefly
Here are the Canon Foundry facts about the pod vehicle known as Firefly, all taken from the International Rescue Thunderbirds Agents’ Technical Manual written by Sam Denham (2012):
- Firefly is both a firefighting and debris-clearing vehicle
- Forward-mounted shield is constructed of cahelium Extract-X, which provides heat protection from intense temperatures and resilient dozer blade capability
- In the center of the dozer blad is the barrel of a heavy-duty gun armed with nitroglycerine shells which can be used to snuff out otherwise uncontrollable fires and for major debris clearance
- Firefly has rear-mounted water and foam dispensers used for cooling her and for blaze control
- The window in the dozer blade is made of caheliumised quartz and allows the pilot to see when the blade is lowered
- The control systems have been simplified to allow the driver to operate them while wearing a bulky heat-resistant suit
- The exit hatch, located behind the red stripe above FIREFLY, is hermetically sealed
